# About EV Charge Cost

EV Charge Cost answers one question precisely: what it costs to charge an electric car where you live. Every number is calculated from official U.S. government data and every source is linked.

## What we publish

- ### Every state Home charging cost for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

- ### Every EV Cost, range and charging time for 91 EV models and their trims.

- ### Open by default Free calculators, a public JSON API and an MCP server for AI assistants.

## Independence

We are not affiliated with any automaker, utility, charging network or government agency. If we ever add affiliate links or advertising, they will be clearly labeled and will never change the numbers.

## How we keep it current

An automated job pulls new electricity and gasoline prices from the EIA and vehicle data from fueleconomy.gov, validates them and rebuilds the site. Each page shows when its data was last updated.
