On a 48 A home charger such as Tesla’s Wall Connector (11.52 kW), a Tesla charges from empty to full in about **7 h 52 min to 12 h 6 min**, depending on the model. Charging time is simple arithmetic: the energy the car needs divided by the power the charger delivers — until the car or the battery limits that power. Here is what that means for each Tesla on the three ways you can charge it. ## Home charging time for every Tesla Times are from empty to the full EPA range of each model’s representative trim, using energy measured at the wall (EPA range × kWh per 100 miles). Tesla says they can add up to 200 miles of range in about 15 minutes ([Tesla Supercharger](https://www.tesla.com/supercharger)). Real sessions depend on: - **State of charge.** Power is highest when the battery is low and falls steadily above roughly half full, so 10–80% is much faster per mile than 80–100%. - **Battery temperature.** A cold battery accepts less power; navigating to a Supercharger lets the car warm the battery first. - **The station.** Older stations and busy sites can deliver less power.
